  • Slides: Actor Mapping with Jennifer Juster

Bringing the right people and organizations together is a key element for creating and implementing effective collaboration, and building relationships across these individuals and organizations is critical. In this webinar, we will walk through the process of building an actor map, a systems tool that focuses on relationships and interconnections between various actors. These maps help show how the parts of, or people within, a system are connected, identify weak connections or gaps, bring out ideas for intervention points in the system, and help identify ways of determining whether those changes have occurred.

  • Slides: CNAS Webinar - State Level Benefits for Veterans

"A vast array of benefits, programs, and services supporting veterans, service members, their families, and survivors has emerged in the post-9/11 era: a “sea of goodwill” that includes players in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. While many are aware that there are services offered by nonprofit organizations and federal agencies, benefits at the state level remain little known within the veteran community. These state-level benefits, though extensive, vary widely and can be difficult to identify, compare, and access.

In a new online tool – Veteran Benefit Finder – and corresponding report “State-Level Benefits for Veterans,” CNAS cataloged and analyzed 1,814 unique benefits offered by states across the U.S. to allow stakeholders to explore the range and distribution of those benefits. The Veteran Benefit Finder online tool accompanying this report is designed to be useful for veterans, service members, military families, and survivors - and those who support them. By allowing users to filter by type of benefit, beneficiary, and state, the resource provides a unique and invaluable reference for gaining greater insight into available state benefits.

In this session, CNAS Senior Fellow and Director of the Military, Veterans, and Society Program, Kayla Williams, will provide an overview of their findings and demonstrate how to use the tool."
